Signing bonus
A signing bonus is a one-off payment made to a new hire on joining — used to attract a candidate, or to offset compensation they forfeit by leaving their current role.
Also called a golden hello at senior level. It can be subject to clawback if the hire leaves within a set period.
Placed, not posted.
