Whole-person intake
Whole-person intake is The Quantum Club's conversation with a prospective member about ambition, values and the life being built, never a résumé screen.
It is the first of the four practices in the club's holistic method, and the source of what the club later weighs on a member's behalf. It follows the oldest line in the house: "We don't hire a résumé. We hire the whole person — roots, not just the bloom."
In practice
The intake asks for what a résumé cannot hold. Beside the plain coordinates of name, role and location, it asks what a person is reaching for next, what they have built, what they walked away from that everyone told them to keep, and the move they cannot make alone. The compensation question asks for a ballpark and can be declined. There is no document to prepare and nothing to upload, and every question maps to a matching decision the club will later make on the member's behalf.
What the intake gathers once, in confidence, the club spends on every decision that follows. The answers become the weights of life-fit matching (location, family, lifestyle and wellbeing), and because membership is career-long, the picture is never frozen at intake: members stay on the radar between moves. Interest is reviewed privately and never shared with anyone, including a current employer, without explicit consent. Every application is answered. The exceptional are answered personally.
Common questions
- Is a whole-person intake the same as an interview?
- No. An interview tests a candidate against a role that already exists. The whole-person intake comes before any role: it is a conversation about ambition, values and the life being built, and it is what the member's Talent Strategist, the senior rank who owns the mandates, draws on to decide which rooms deserve the member's attention at all.
- Why does the intake not ask for a résumé?
- Because a résumé describes output under past constraints, and the club matches people to future rooms. The intake asks for the things a résumé cannot hold: judgment, conviction, and the move a person wants to make next. A CV can follow later, once a specific conversation warrants it.
- Who sees what is said in the intake?
- The club's review, in confidence. Interest is reviewed privately and never shared with anyone, including a current employer, without explicit consent. Nothing from the intake is visible to a company unless and until the member chooses to pursue a specific introduction.
