Shortlist
A shortlist is the small group of the most suitable candidates selected from a wider pool and presented to a company to interview — the output of the research and assessment stage of a search.
A strong shortlist is short and pre-qualified: every name genuinely fits the brief, so the company's time goes into deciding rather than filtering.
